NJDC 2007 results

The 4th Northern Junior Debating Championship was held on Saturday the 29th of September 2007
The break to the final was as follows:

1) St Columba's A (Rebecca Meredith and Hannah Riley) 12 points
2) Royal Grammar School C (Kit Mercer and Thomas Beckwith) 11 points
3) St Columba's B (Andrew Beverstock and WIlliam Heselmann) 11 points
4) Dundee A (Scott Ralston and Rachel Mclellen) 10 points

The final was chaired by our Chief Adjudicator, Sam Block, and also included: Bob Nimmo, Doug Cochran, Mhari Murdock and Shane Murray.

NJDC was won by St Columba's A with Rebecca the best speaker in the final.

The position of top speaker on tab was shared between Rebecca, Hannah, Kit and Claire Brash (Central Newcastle High).

We would like to thank all our splendid judges for coming, many of them travelled long distances. We were particularly grateful for the fulsome support of the Cambridge, Durham and Newcastle Union societies. Special mention also goes to Sam and our Tab Master Bob Nimmo, both of whom, as expected, did a fantastic job.

Once again, thanks for coming, we do appreciate the scale of the effort many of you make to attend the competition, and we hope to see you next year.
